Trip Ideas

In your VW Camper, you have unlimited mileage anywhere in the UK and Europe (EU at an insurance surcharge per day). The journey is just as important as the destination in our vans, if you are looking for some trip ideas, below are a list of our favourite places in Wales, home of Cherry Camper Hire.

Aberdovey (Aberdyfi)

Aberdovey boasts some of the finest beaches in Britain with four miles of golden sand-dune backed shoreline running north to Tywyn. The championship golf course lies to the landward side of the dunes. The beaches are popular with sunbathers, swimmers, surfers and fishermen while the estuary attracts a wide range of water sports enthusiasts. You don't need to travel too far from Aberdovey to find a different world - that of spectacular mountain and valley scenery. The peaks of the Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy ranges are within easy reach and are complimented by the charm of the Dovey and Dysynni valleys nearby. Aberdovey Beach is also where our founder Steve and his Fiancée Ruby got engaged in 2018, so will always be our favourite!

Gower Peninsula

Just a short drive from Swansea, the Gower Peninsula was designated as the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty back in 1956, and we’re glad to say it hasn’t changed much since! Visit the Gower Peninsula for a rich and varied environment which is breath-taking, from wild moors and limestone cliffs to golden, sandy beaches. Gower is a geological goldmine with inspiring landscapes. It gets some of the most awesome waves in Britain, and sandy Llangennith has been popular amongst surfers for decades. Rhossili Bay has also been enjoying some limelight on the world stage too. It has been voted in the top four beaches in Britain for the last four years.

Brecon Beacons

With mountains and moorland, standing stones and castles, lively waterfalls and vibrant communities, the Brecon Beacons National Park has masses to offer visitors. The Brecon Beacons have a long and colourful history and a rich and varied mythology and culture. For mountain walkers, Pen-Y-Fan is the highest peak in South Wales and is a must on a clear day. The Brecon Beacons National Park is one of the most exciting and varied caving areas in Britain. The Geopark includes four of the five longest limestone cave systems in Britain.

Tenby is a town steeped in ancient history surrounded by an imposing medieval stone wall. Through the passages of time Tenby has seen many changes but it has been on the leisure map for over 200 years. Tenby’s beaches have prestigious Blue Flag status for their cleanliness and water quality and are regularly voted to be amongst the most beautiful beaches in the world. For a bit of history and some lovely views take a stroll on the Tenby Ghost Walk, – great evening entertainment and light hearted story telling including ghosts, pirates, fairies and witches!
